Proposed Hydraulic Modeling Rule (R309-511) The hydraulic modeling rule R309-511 was presented to the DWB on January 13, 2010, for "rule adoption" and "change in proposed rule" with some minor changes (click here). We have compiled a summary document for the comments we received and our official response (click here). We also prepared a draft checklist to help drinking water systems in understanding the rule applicability and various elements of this rule (click here). The effective date will be set no less than 30 days after publication of the change in proposed rule, which will be March 10, 2010. Please contact Bob Hart at bhart@utah.gov or (801) 536-0054 if you have any questions regarding the hydraulic modeling rule.

Proposed Well Grout Witness Rule Revisions - R309-515-6(5)(b) The Division intends to finalize the draft in mid February, and present the proposed rule revisions to the Board on March 10 to initiate the rule making process. Your feedback before mid February is greatly appreciated. We are in the process of soliciting informal feedback from various stakeholders prior to finalizing the proposed language. Mike Georgeson will attend the Utah Ground Water Association convention on January 14 and 15 in Mesquite, NV, and solicit input from the well drillers and consultants during the UGWA conference. The primary contact of this rule revision is Michael Georgeson at (801)536-0092 or mgeorgeson@utah.gov.
